There are many products and accessories that can help you to create the perfect photos in your photo studio. Clamps, Brackets, Reflectors, Tripods and many more handy tools.
For your studio are light stands universal tools that will carry almost anything. Hence, “studio stands” would be a better name for them. They’ll carry flash lighting, daylight lamps, reflector holders, light booms and much more.
You can also use them as a basis for a background system. Various brackets and clamps can be attached to them, including carriers for paper background rolls.
They are available from small stands with a maximum height of 1,00 meters. Perfect for background lighting. Bigger models can reach heights of 3,90 meters!
Light Boom Set
A light boom is a light stand with an arm on top of it. Most arms have a variable length of between 100 and 220 cm.
The studio flash of daylight lamp is carried on one end, the other has a counterweight.
You can use a light boom to light your model or scene from above, perfect for backlight, rim light or hair light in portrait photography.
You can also use it to create more room of movement around your subject.
Autopole light stand
An autopole is a special kind of light stand. It is extractable to a length of 4 meters or more. It has a rubber stamp on top and at the boom. By expanding the pole, it sits tightly between the floor and the ceiling. The Falcon Eyes AP-4200T features three extra stamps at the bottom for extra stability.
This very stable light stands is the best solution if you need your equipment at considerable heights.
You can use various brackets and clamps on the pole to put your equipment on: a flash unit, daylight lamp, background system, reflector arm, you name it!
Wall Light Boom
A Wall Light Boom is attached to the wall. This way, you can have your equipment in just the right position, and keep the floor cleared of any light stands.
This is a perfect solution to give you more room of movement in your photo studio. The arm can be turned horizontally and tilted vertically.
Available wall booms are the WB-1250 and the WB-1650, with a variable length of 75-125 cm and 98-169 cm respectively.
Why are light stands universal?
Every light stand, autopole, light boom set and a lot of brackets are equipped with a spigot adapter.
This universal adapter sits on top of e.g. a light stands and can carry almost any flash unit.
This universal connection works simple: just put your equipment on it and tighten it’s screw. This will tighten it securely on the spigot, so that you can use your equipment vertically as well.
Camera tripods are invaluable tools for any photographer. Whether for outdoor use, long shutter photography, macro- or product ptohography or portrait shoots, it will always come in handy.
Falcon Eyes has a broad line of quality tripods, ranging from entry-level aluminium tripods to high end, carbon tripods which are extremely durable yet very lightweight.
You can refit most tripods with another ball head or panorama head. You can also buy a tripod without a standard ballhead so you can choose your own.
The ballheads and panorama heads are available in many sizes. Whether you use a small compact camera or a DSLR with a heavy telelens, Falcon Eyes has just the right tripod head for the job.
Remote Flash Trigger Set
A flash trigger set is invaluable to anyone serious about studio photography.
This set contains a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter is put on the flash shoe (hot shoe) of your camera. The receiver is connected to the studio flash. This lets you trigger your flash heads wirelessly.
Reflectors and Reflector Holders
Reflectors are an important part of your studio photography equipment. They let you bounce light to lighten up shadows.
Reflectors are available in a variety of colors, sizes and combinations. For example a ø 80 cm 5-in-1 reflector kit (shown in the middle), containing silver, gold, sunlight gold, white and translucent white. Or a 7-in-1 kit, also containing the colors chroma blue and chroma green (for chromakey/greenscreen purposes). These reflectors are also available in ø30, ø56 and ø107 and rectanglar shapes up to 102 x 168 cm in size.
You can use a reflector holder (shown on the right) to place a reflector in just the right position. You can use this holder with any light stand.
Light Stand Wheels
These wheels can be mounted under the legs of your light stands. This way, you can easily move them around in you studio!
By tapping on the break with your foot, movement can be blocked.
They are available in three diameters:
- PCA-19:M ø 19mm
- PCA-22M: ø 22mm
- PCA-25M: ø 25mm.
Cases and Bags
For many photographers, mobility is an important issue. Not all jobs take place in your studio, sometimes you have to pack up your gear and work on location.
Falcon Eyes has various hot shoes, e.g. for putting a camera flash onto a light stand and then triggering it remotely.
Other hotshoes are put on top of your camera, to add an x-contact connection (for triggering your studio flash equipment by wire) to your camera if it doesn’t have one by default. These hot shoes fit on any camera, with Sony/Minolta being the only exception. There are special hot shoes for these brands (for example the HS-25Sa hotshoe).
